At the intermediate levels, students will begin to build on the foundation that has been put in place in Beginning Ballet. This is an
exciting time for young dancers; they will begin to become more comfortable with the basic techniques, gain a better understanding of how to apply corrections, and begin to develop the inspiration and passion that are so important in dance.
They will also begin to take “pre-pointe” classes which will prepare dancers for work en pointe, which comes later in their training. During this phase of training, dancers will begin to strengthen muscles and increase flexibility BEFORE putting on pointe shoes. Pre-pointe classes are essential to properly, and safely, getting a student ready for pointe work.
At the intermediate levels, dancers are asked to devote more time to their training and take all classes listed in their level.
